Multi-tip tooling
B&D Italia manufactures and supplies tooling for producing multiple tablets per punch.
The size of the punch body determines the number of tips that can be applied.

Rotary Head
Using rotary head punches provides increased resistance to wear.
All shaped and multiple punches must be key-seated to prevent rotation, ensuring that the punch tip remains aligned with the die.
This can lead to localized wear on the head where it contacts the cam track.
The rotary head is a unique concept designed to address this issue, offering additional benefits for the customer.

- Increased wear resistance by allowing the head to rotate independently of the punch body, and it can also be made from more durable materials.
- Faster and quieter production due to reduced resistance forces, enabling the tablet press to operate at higher speeds.
Effervescent Tablets
The production of effervescent tablets requires specific solutions for both the machine and the punches:
These products tend to easily grip the die hole.
To address this issue, a special feature is added to the lower punch: through a special felt installed on the press, it is soaked in food-grade oil that lubricates the die hole and prevents the punch from getting stuck in the turret.
A special plastic insert is placed on the punch to prevent tablet adhesion.
B&D Italia also provides an independent system, compatible with all tablet presses, that allows for the spraying of magnesium stearate onto punches and dies, helping to reduce adhesion to the die, which is common with certain pharmaceutical products.
Interchangeability
Thanks to a highly advanced mechanized process, the positioning of the key relative to the punch is extremely precise.

Punch Polishing
Cleaning punches not only takes time but can also pose health and safety risks.
B&D Italia offers a range of automatic Micro Fine polishing machines, recognizing the significant value of punches and the importance of keeping them in perfect condition.
Using a simple yet effective process, punches are loaded onto specially designed devices that rotate them inside a particle compound, achieving a Micro Fine polish while minimizing manual labor.
Up to 36 punches can be polished per cycle, which lasts about 30 minutes, consistently achieving excellent results.
