Rotating head

Improved wear resistance using rotating head punches by B&D Italia. All shaped and multi-tipped upper punches are keyed to prevent the punch from rotating, so that the tip is permanently aligned with the die – however, this often causes localized headwear at the position where the head contacts the cam track. Rotating Head is a unique concept that resolves to this problem, with added benefits to the tablet producer.

• Improve wear resistance by allowing the head to rotate independently from the punch body which can also be manufactured from a harder material.
• Cleaner, smoother operation because punches only require one key position.
• Faster and quieter operation as there are less resisting forces enabling the press to be operated at faster speeds.

The rotating head concept can be applied to most standard upper and lower punch types .
